Dehydration & Feeling Stiff Muscles

Dr. Nickolas Allen, DC

As the temperatures warm up we have to pay attention to our water intake. Although you may not feel to warm because it's only 60,70 or 80 degrees outside make sure you stay well hydrated. Not only do we get the tell-tale headache and darker urine from dehydration, but we also can a little stiff and slow.

Our muscles and joints rely on water to help lubricate joints, are blood volume depends on water so our blood pressure doesn't drop too low, and our muscles need it to function properly. So, the next time you're grabbing a soda, beer, or other beverage of choice, make sure you're getting plain water too. Your body works far harder to process soda and other drinks than it does plain water.

Otherwise stay safe out there and enjoy the sunshine.
